Welcome Header

The Montessori method of education teaches children through their senses and provides an environment in which the child is allowed the freedom to choose what work to do each day. A child who is allowed to follow his interests in the classroom develops confidence and a love for learning that stays with him. Many activities in the Montessori classroom appear to be "just play," but the child is subconsciously learning concepts that are the foundation for his future education.

Daily schedule

We follow the Los Alamos Public Schools for all holidays. You will receive a copy of these closures when your child starts school.

Dress Code

We do not have a dress code, but we do ask that you dress your child in clothes that make it easy for him to use the bathroom, and that can be easily laundered. Clothes sometimes get dirty during the learning process. We also ask that you bring an extra set of clothing (including underwear and socks) labeled with your child's name in case he should ever need to change his clothes while at school.

Parent Handbook

The Children's Montessori Preschool handbook can be downloaded in pdf format here.
